As with many funny nicknames for aunts. friends, grandmothers, etc, the nickname Barbarock came from a toddler’s enthusiastic mispronounciation. My son William started calling Barbara by the name ‘Bawbaw-WOCK” when he was very small and the name stuck somehow. There is only one Barbarock, and we love her.
